Bells and Whistles

This is not a bells and whistles website and to get the best out of it you will need to do some reading and look at some links. Please do make the effort and then do what you can to protect the BBC from the politically motivated interference that will destroy it.

A Genuine Concern

The reason I have sent up this webite is because I have a real and genuine concern that the Conservatives are out to destroy or at least emasculate the BBC. They do not like the independence of the BBC and they do not like being held to account by it. Their friends in the commercial media want rid of it.

The Conservative Government's Reviews

The Conservative government's reviews into the BBC's charter and the licence fee are always biased against the BBC. I wonder why? The former chairman appointed by the government John Whittingdale has declared the BBC licence fee is worse than the poll tax. He was PM Maggie Thatcher's politcal secretary when the poll tax was imposed and I cannot see he spoke out against it at the time. Then he went onto become an MP. Strange that!
